Female student dominated this year's Fujifilm competition 2001, topping all four categories and taking the overall prize. French-born Rozenn Leboucher, a recent graduate from Nescot in Surrey who featured in BJP's Endframe in 1998, was named Student Photographer of the Year.

Rozenn collected her award at a prize ceremony in Londonlast week, having already topped the social/Editorial category, which once again provided the fiercest competition. Rozenn's entry in Social/ Editorial category responded to a brief asking entrants to reflect cultural diversity in Britain and was inspired by the multi-ethnic mix in Peckham, south London. In the future, Rozenn hopes to travel the world working as a reportage photographer. For the next six months however, she will be working as a cruise ship photographer in the Caribbean, in an effort to pay off her student debts. |
